May 24, 2008 Lindsay Nebraska Supercell

I wake up on the 24th in my McCook motel room to this on the wall. It was faint like this at first. I was like, what the hell is that.

Then I figured it out. The sun was coming through the peephole in the door, making that rainbow circle on the mirror and reflecting back to the wall.

Getting brighter. Just a little odd!

Almost the coolest thing I'd seen in the last 60 hours.

This makes me sad. Not sure why I'm including it, but I am. I was in the process of leaving the motel when I noticed. The family was doing something out front. The dog kept barking at them and wagging its tail. Then 3 young kids came back carrying something to the trash. The dog stood there wagging his tail. They dump the trash and go back, never petting the dog or anything. He sat and stared as they went back.

Then he goes back and lays in his spot. I hate chains, and don't get why a dog in a fence needs to be chained. Must jump their small fence I guess. It sucks we have to keep pets as it is, we should all do what we can to make their lives better. Maybe they take great care of this one, I have no idea. If not, I just think it sucks, no matter what normal is to everyone. If I had to guess, he'll spend nearly every moment of his life attached to a tree. All the moments that followed me leaving that motel and chasing storms. The moments of the next day. He was likely there last year when I stayed in McCook....attached to the same tree to sit and be alone. He'll be there next year I bet. Our moments go by fine since we have things to do, tv to watch, etc. Try to imagine the moments of a dog's life such as this. It feels like we all do, hot, cold, pain....fun. Makes me hate the world a little to be honest. But for all I know, they put him out there like that to go potty and let him in with the family most of the time. Anything is better than being left alone and isolated all the time. It's just not that hard to do better for your pet(and like I said, maybe they do...I don't know).

Anyway, I wound up in northeast Nebraska on this nice low-topped supercell, north of Lindsay.

I got beat to the intersection once again by the TIV crew. (like the day before)

In Norfolk now, storm losing some of its little punch.

There was another nice little low-topped supercell behind the first. The core looked a little interesting right as it hit.

I'm tired of typing.....(doing 3 chase accounts at once does this)
