Note the farm on the right side. Larger buildings at Little Sioux are on the far left here.

Of course anytime I shoot a scene very long it's a gaurantee I'll feel the need to jump into it. I'm so glad I had shoes and socks in the trunk of my car still. It was a bit muddy and the grass was obviously rather wet.

It wasn't too fun always feeling the need to change from the 17-40L to the 100-400L. It wouldn't surprise me if I changed from one to the other and back 10 times. Plus each time I also had to change the tripod mount from the 100-400L to the camera body for the 17-40L. Time to dig up that other mount at least. I need two cameras worth using. That or a different zoom for the range of 17-120mm or so. Above was probably at 400mm.

A strange wave worked its way south, but never could get west to the hills. It blocked out one town to the north pretty quickly. You can barely see the horizon on the far left side. It was just cool to see the fog bunch up in that area and get taller like that.

I noticed this scene a bit late. This is looking to the east. There was more fog out that way, several miles away.

Getting closer to 8 now, fog starting to lift(mix out).

This was fun, pushing the shutter with timer going and trying to get to the edge of the hill and ready in 15 seconds. Hopefully next time this happens I'll manage a light nw breeze or west, to get the fog right up to these hills.
